Founded in 2015, Ohio Speed Academy is committed to helping dedicated athletes maximize their potential. We have trained hundreds of athletes in the Central Ohio Region and have helped many athletes surpass their athletic goals. We also offer help with recruiting so your athlete can stand out and get recognized. Some of our athlete’s accomplishments can be found under the Club Records section.

Jordan Rispress - club owner & Founder

Director of track and field

 

As the founder and head coach of Ohio Speed Academy, Coach Rispress has nearly 10 years of experience and knowledge coaching at the high school and club level. A highly accomplished athlete in his own right, he is committed to helping his athletes reach their full potential on the track. Coach Rispress incorporates a deep understanding of the latest training techniques and strategies into his coaching philosophy and is dedicated to helping his athletes reach their goals whatever the may be.


Justin Hines - Club Owner

Hurdles and Sprints Coach

“The biggest hurdles in life aren’t on the track, they are in the mind – believe, have discipline, and put in the work to achieve the goals you have for yourself”  - Coach Hines

Coach Hines has been with OSA since graduating from Ohio State University as a four time letter winner in 2014. Although he occasionally helps with the sprinters, Coach Hines primarily focuses on coaching the team’s hurdlers. His coaching style is based on speed and technical efficiency and focuses on improving strengths and leaning into weaknesses. Coach Hines has coached numerous All-State and All-American hurdlers and has a passion for seeing athletes reach their potential and achieve levels of success they didn’t believe was possible.



Coach Matthew Fox

Throws Coach

Coach Fox has been with Ohio Speed Academy since 2018. He served 10 years as the head track and throws coach at Hilliard Darby High School where he proved himself as one of the premier throws coaches in Ohio. Between the outdoor and indoor seasons, Coach Fox has produced 16 OCC Champions, 8 district champions, 24 regional qualifiers, 4 regional champions, 60 state qualifiers, 4 state runners-up , 6 state champions and at least 12 1st-team All-Ohio athletes.



Coach Devon Staten

Long Jump Coach

 

Coach Staten is the head girls track coach at Hilliard Darby High School and has been with Ohio Speed Academy since 2020. He has served as the long jump coach at Darby for 4 years where he has helped produce top 10 marks in the state with various jumpers. Coach Staten also coached two athletes to national championship performances in Triple Jump and Long Jump.


Coach Derrick Agbaike

High Jump & Sprints Coach

 

Coach Derrick Agbaike is the high jump and sprints coach at Hilliard Darby High School and began his tenure with Ohio Speed Academy in 2021. During his competitive track career, he was coached and mentored by an Olympian/World Record holder throughout and competed in multiple Junior Olympic games. Under Coach Agbaike's tutelage, several athletes have achieved new personal best marks in both high jump and long jump.


Coach Chesna Francisco

Sprints Coach

 

Coach Francisco is new to the OSA family! She brings years of knowledge and technique to take our short sprinters to the next level. Being a former Coach Hines and Coach Rispress teammate, Coach Francisco graduated from The Ohio State University as a Four-time letter winner as well as being a part of 4 Big Ten Championships. In addition, she previously served as the Assistant Girls Track Coach at Ridgeview Pickerington Jr. High. Coach Francisco's primary focus is the short sprinters. Her style includes running techniques, block techniques, and overall mechanics to ensure each athlete is successful and prepared to execute at their best. Under Coach Francisco's tutelage, several of her athletes have achieved their personal best in the 100m,200m, and 400m.
